We'll definitely have to come to this abbey. The Westvletern monks are universally known to brew the world's best beer. That should be enough reason to visit. Check out this article from the WSJ and the abbey's web site for more info. Also, this place is only 53 km from Brugge, which would also be worthwhile to see, if only to have some Belgian waffles and see the place where the movie, In Bruges, was filmed.
Note by TravelDan: This is a great idea, prices for 24 beers go between €25 and €36. We need to make reservations though according to their site for purchase. They limit one order per car per number or something. But 24 beers should be far more than needed unless we had more than 6 or 8 people. Their guesthouse is closed from 2007 for 3 years and so we will have to find somewhere else to stay. That shouldn't be too hard.
