Party Like It's 1999!

OK, now we have talked in the past about night-life and beer but we never really discussed or mentioned responsible drinking. All moral questions aside, drinking too much will ruin your trip. Although you have some fun, you miss the entire city. If you just want to drink and stay out late, do it in your own city. I don't mean that all fun is out of the question it is just that you shouldn't have so much fun that you regret it later. An example could be that we decided to go out to a discotek and met some random babes and drank, a lot. Now of course we have to always ask ourselves the question of whether we lost our wills in the act but often that doesn't occur yet we still wake up at 1 in the afternoon. You now only have 4 or 5 hours of good touring time, with the first hour used to get ready and travel back into the city or to the tourist area. If you are in a more popular city such as Rome, you will find yourself in the back of lines that prevent you from ever getting in before closing. It is certainly OK if you plan a night like this or in fact are aiming at such a lifestyle (as intended by Oktoberfest); however in everyday travel be sure to have semi-sober fun only. NEVER LOSE SIGHT OF WHY YOU WENT TO EUROPE! There are plenty of women and you don't have to find them in bars. Let me recount my 18 day trip and all the random women I met in hostels, on trains etc... Rome I met two Brazilian girls when I was relaxing in the Jacuzzi, great gals and fun to talk with. I do believe they were looking for some un-christian fun and were quite disappointed. Then I went on to Zurich, I was only there for part of a day and really the only people I met was on the train going there a man who lived there, not a woman, and then some crazy lady who wanted me to marry her daughter while I was waiting for my train to leave. I don't think I ever told anyone about that, but yes I have been proposed to and it was VERY serious! Then off to France and it was then two girls who complained about the sleazy guys outside the hostel always trying to pick up young chicks. We talked about wine, and cheese and cheap traveling. We then went together to the store and bought some food and ate some lunch. I think again they expected a little more out of me than what I gave them. Then onto the second hostel I stayed at in Paris, it was a little different and there was a single girl rather than 2, it wasn't so bad. I think she had someone else there but they were not ready to go out yet. In Madrid, Spain I met the massage lady and decided that professional massages are the best in the world, especially when given by a hot babe. Then in Barcelona I just met the guy and some girl on the train and we talked about looks and language because he thought I was from Northern Spain. Then the train between Barcelona and Paris I talked again with 3 random women until about 1 or 1:30 in the morning. No new women in Paris this time around. Then of course I met the girl I talked politics with coming back from Mont Saint-Michel but it was strictly politics but she was a babe. Then in Munich I met the two Japanese girls, one of which didn't even speak English. I received their e-mail addresses, which is a HUGE(romantic) thing in Japan. Then I went back to Gaming... So all in all, about 8 girls that I could have totally stuck around for and a few more that I wouldn't want to stick around for. I never ONCE went out to a bar or a night club. There were a few more that I did not mention but there was no flirting or anything so I didn't mention it. Like the first night in Rome, I drank with a couple of other people but no flirting with the woman, she was a bit older than me. So anyway, moral of the story is that you don't have to get wasted to meet people and you want to enjoy Europe and not the people who are going to Europe.
